Guideline for Visa Applications to the Turkish Embassy in Dar Es Salaam -2017
diplomatic and service passport holders are exempt from visa for their
travels to Turkey up to 90 days duration of stay.
Passengers who will have to wait at the International Airports in Turkey for their connecting flights are not required to obtain visa. However, should those passengers wish to get out of the airport, for example to take a city tour or to stay overnight, they have to obtain their visas at the Turkish Embassies/Consulates in advance.
I) Required Documents
a) Passport and passport
copy (valid minimum 6 months on the date of application)
b) Two passport size pictures of 6 cm by 5 cm (60 mm x 50 mm) with completely pure white background.
(Pictures should be attached with a paperclip to the visa application form, not stapled.)
c) Visa application form (duly filled). Should there be any missing information in the form, the application
will not be accepted.

h) Reference letter from the company in Tanzania (If the applicants is employee)
If the visit purpose is
business and trade required documents is mentioned below
j) Invitation letter from a Turkish company / Turkish Citizen / Organizing Committee in Turkey
k) Business License (Copy)
l) Certificate of Registration (Copy)
The Embassy reserves the right to request additional documents or to interview applicants if considered necessary.
In case, you have bought your flight ticket before obtaining your visa, this is a personal risk you have taken and will not constitute any guarantee for the issuance of the visa nor for speeding up the visa procedures.
II) Visa Procedure
a) All visa applications should be made in person to the Embassy. An interview will be made with
applicants by the Visa Consular. No organization other than the Embassy is authorized to evaluate visa
b) For those applicants who are notTanzanian citizens, valid Tanzanian residence/work permit should
also be submitted.
c) All applicants are recommended to apply for visa at least five days before their travel date. In case all required documents were duly prepared and presented to the Embassy, visa evaluation process will be completed within 3 working days.
d) In some cases the visa procedure might take longer due to waiting for the instructions of Turkish Immigration Department, Ministry of Home Affairs.
III) Working Hours of the Consular Section
Visa applications are to be submitted from 09:00 am to 12:00 hours from Monday to Friday.
IV) Visa Fees
Single Entry : $
Multiple Entry : $ 200 USD
Single Transit : $ 60 USD
Double Transit : $ 120 USD
All the visa fees listed above should be paid cash in USD to the Consular Section. Tanzanian Shillings not accepted. No other charges or commissions are applied. No other institution than the Embassy is authorized to collect visa fees.
Electronic Visa (Valid US, UK or Schengen visasHolders who fly with Turkish Airlines)
Tanzanian and some third country nationals can get electronic visa through the official website www.evisa.gov.trby making online payment. After confirmation of the online payment, e-visa is sent to the applicant’s e-mail address.
Tanzanian nationals are eligible for e-visa, on condition that they have a valid visa or residence permit of either Schengen or OECD countries and fly to Turkey with Turkish Airlines. Electronic visa fee is only 50 USD.
